Just 340 Serbian firms reopened in April

During April, 339 companies in Serbia employing 34,884 employees managed to reopen for business, according to the Serbian Chamber of Commerce President Marko Cadez. He said the recent reopening of Germany’s main car manufacturers was contributing to the renewal of economic activity in Serbia, as they sector has many suppliers in the Balkan nation. The same pattern is being played out in other manufacturing sectors such as machines and specialized tools. Serbia’s tax administration claims that based on daily income reports, nearly two-thirds of the country’s 200,000 entrepreneurs have also resumed work.
