The Kaufland chain has announced tenders for the construction of supermarkets in Katowice and Gdynia, and more will start soon in Kalisz, Rumia and Krasnystaw, the chain announced. An important element of the Kaufland chain’s strategy is its dynamic expansion, which assumes opening an average of 10 stores a year.
“We always carry out new investments together with business partners, including general contractors responsible for the coordination of individual construction and installation works. Tenders may be submitted to companies that have achieved a turnover of about PLN 60 million and have experience in implementing similar investments, such as stand-alone commercial and service facilities, retail parks, warehouses and industrial halls. We are also looking for subcontractors in several industries – primarily sanitary and electricity,” said Joanna Janiga, director of the Tender and Quality Control Division in Kaufland Polska.
Kaufland emphasizes that it regularly invests in the modernization of existing facilities, introducing environmentally friendly solutions. Each new and renovated market is equipped with: into waste heat recovery technology or glass covers of cooling devices to prevent energy loss. The network is also developing photovoltaic installations and electric car charging stations.
