13 April 2021

Kaufland Romania announces a massive investment plan of over EUR 375 million in 2021, the largest in the history of 16 years on the market. The money goes to the opening of at least ten stores, the start of a new logistics investment, the acquisition of lands and the remodeling of existing hypermarkets. The company’s 2021 budget is 25 percent higher than in 2020 and almost double the year before the pandemic.

Currently, the German hypermarket chain has over 140 units in Romania. At least ten openings are budgeted in 2021, and the pace will be maintained in the coming years. In fact, the company is constantly looking for new land to buy for future expansion.
