Kaufland is nearing completion on its first store in Moldova. The 4,600 sqm property is scheduled to open later this summer in Chisinau. The German retailer invested €85m in the project over the last three years and is already planning to open three more locations in the capital and six others across the country. Over the next 10 years, Kaufland is planning to expand its network to 20 stores and one logistics center.
“Kaufland has bold plans for the Moldovan market. All our efforts are aimed at meeting customer needs, developing relationships with employees, suppliers and local manufacturers,” said Marco Hossl, general director of Kaufland Romania and Moldova.
