The Kaufland supermarket chain claims it will be opening a store in Lovech, north-central Bulgaria, by end of this year. At the moment, however, the German retailer is still looking for the best plot to build the supermarket.
Kaufland has been interested in the area for some time now, having invested already in feasibility studies and research of the market. This would be the third major supermarket chain present in Lovech. Billa and Lidl are each operating a store in the city. Last year, Penny Market and Piccadilly left the market.
