Kaufland Polska Markety withdrew its application for the purchase of part of the property of Wanship, i.e. a commercial facility in Pasaż Świętokrzyski in Kielce, where the E.Leclerc store operates, the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) reported

“In this case, it was necessary to conduct a market research and verify the data presented by the acquiring company in the application for consent to the transaction. The proceedings were directed to the second stage, in which the analysis showed that the concentration may lead to restriction of competition. The President of UOKIK presented the entrepreneur with reservations, after which Kaufland Polska Markety withdrew its application.

Last year, Kaufland Polska Markety submitted an application to the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection for the purchase of part of Wanship’s property. The application was received on November 26 this year.
