Kaufman acquires Cardinal Building in Long Island City

3 April 2018

The Kaufman Organization has acquired the Cardinal Building in Long Island City’s Hunter’s Point neighborhood. The 65,000 sq ft building will undergo a complete remodeling, with plans calling for a renovated building facade, a new lobby and upgraded elevators and windows along with new plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling systems. The three-story building, which was bought from Martial Enterprises, also features retail space.

“The Cardinal Building offers a special opportunity to create a boutique flagship campus for a creative office, retail or entertainment concept,” said Michael Kazmierski, principal and director of acquisitions at Kaufman. “The property has an unparalleled branding opportunity for the tenant with signage rights directly on the Long Island Expressway near the base of the Midtown Tunnel and is situated at a nexus of public transportation…providing swift access to Manhattan, Brooklyn and other areas of Queens.”
