Kellner’s Open Gate school to replace Prague 6 hotel complex

14 September 2015

The former Praha Hotel in Prague 6, which was bought and then torn down by the Czech billionaire Petr Kellner, will be replaced by a private school, Open Gate II. Kellner hopes to break ground by January 2017, with completion set for June 2018. The project is currently in the EIA process. The building that will accommodate both basic and secondary school students will feature three aboveground floors and two underground levels. It will be located in the southern part of the former hotel site near Evropská street. The project will include a newly built portion as well as the Hadovka Manor, which housed the Canadian Embassy until 2013. Kellner acquired the Praha hotel through his PPF group two years ago and demolition work of the hotel started in January 2014.
