French clothing retailer Kiabi, which opened its first store in Romania in 2009, is now leaving the country. At the moment, itβs looking for partners to take over the six stores it operates in Romania, said Yann Le Blaye, Expansion Manager for KIABI Romania.
Decreased turnover in 2011 is the main reason why the company decided to withdraw from Romania.
Kiabi invested about β¬3m to open six stores in Romania, and had plans to develop another 20 units by the end of 2014. Its four Bucharest stores are locatedthe Iris Shopping Center, Grand Arena Berceni, Militari Shopping Center and Orhideea Gallery, while it also has stores in Tom complex (Constanta) and in Polus Center (Cluj).
The company specializes in fashion retail, accessories and footwear, in stores that generally occupy ββ1000 sqm -2000 sqm. Kiabi is one of the largest clothing retailers in France, and has about 300 stores and businesses that generates β¬1bn.
