The German company Kirchhoff Hungaria has expanded its factory in Esztergom with a HUF 2.7bn investment. Kirchhoff is one of the leading suppliers of metal structures to the automobile industry. The company was producing exclusively for Suzuki from 2004 to 2010, but as a result of the crisis was forced to to widen its client base. Today, the company supplies BMW, General Motors and Mercedes in Hungary; Skoda and Ford in the Czech Republic; and Peugeot, Citroen and Volkswagen in Slovakia. The expansion will provide 150 more jobs in the region. The company’s total revenues were €27m in 2011 and following this recent investment, annual turnover could reach €50m.
