KLM aims for 5,000 European flights in July

22 June 2020

Airline KLM plans to run 5,000 European flights in July to 80 percent of its normal destinations in Europe. The company reports that in August, the number should more than double to 11,000 flights, with 95 percent of KLM’s usual destinations to be available. KLM will also be increasing its intercontinental service with an expected 1,900 flights in July and 2,100 in August.

The airline hopes to fly to 80 percent of its standard intercontinental destinations in August, though the bulk of these consist of cargo flights. KLM said it would increase passenger flights once all travel restrictions are lifted. The total projected number of KLM flights over the next two months is thus 7,000 and 13,000 flights, a huge drop from its statistics from a year ago for those months (22,000 and 23,000).
