Kolter division buys 274 acres in Manatee

10 December 2014

A subsidiary of the West Palm Beach-based firm that is developing the 18-story Vue Sarasota Bay hotel and condominium complex in downtown Sarasota has acquired 274 acres in Manatee for $6.6 million property records show.

OK Willow Walk LLC, an affiliate of The Kolter Group LLC, bought the land from Cone & Graham Inc., a Tampa company managed by Robert O. Graham. Cone & Graham bought the land out of foreclosure for $1.2 million in October 2012, records show.

Though Kolter is best known in Southwest Florida for developing condos in the 86-unit Water Club II project on Longboat Key and Vue Sarasota – set to include a 141-unit luxury condo tower and a 255-room Westin hotel – the company is adept at building large-scale and mixed-use communities.

In Boca Raton, Kolter developed the 830-acre Woodfield Country Club, and in Palm Beach Gardens, it built the 317-home Harbour Oaks residences.

But its largest Florida project was developed in Port St. Lucie, where it built the 6,000-acre PGA Village, complete with residences, commercial space, four golf courses and a Professional Golfers Association education center. Some 9,000 residences have been envisioned for the village.

In all, Kolter has developed nearly $4 billion worth of real estate in Florida, according to company data.
