Končar to refurbish hydropower plant in Bulgaria

A consortium between of Croatian concern Končar KET and Czech-based ČKD Blansko will work together to refurbish a Bulgarian 14 MW hydropower plant. The Bulgarian state power utility Natsionalna Elektricheska Kompania NEK EAD will cooperate on reconstruction of the facility, which is known as HPP Vacha 1. The order, whose value is unknown, is part of a €37m, project to rehabilitate the Belmeken – Sestrimo – Chaira hydropower complex, HPP Vacha 1 110 kV switchyard and other HPP systems. Work is expected to complete by the end of 2020. Končar KET is working on three other projects for the Bulgarian power company.
