The town of Kopřivnice in the Novojičínsko region is building a cycle path to neighboring Závišice for almost 2.4 million crowns. It should be ready by the end of the summer, announced spokesperson of the Kopřivnice town hall, Lucie Macháčková.

Thanks to the new cycle path, the road to Závišice will be safer, because cyclists and pedestrians will use it instead of the busy road II / 482, which they ride and walk on now. “The project includes the construction of a 140-meter-long new building of a common path for pedestrians and cyclists in the places of the original paved sidewalk, plus the reconstruction of the adjoining local road, including exits to family houses,” said Macháčková.

The cycle path will connect to the cycle route being built by the municipality of Závišice and to the Krakow-Moravia-Vienna Greenway route. Kopřivnice received a subsidy from the Integrated Regional Operational Program for the newly built part, which will cover approximately CZK 950,000.
