Korolec working on new environmental solutions

After yesterday’s talks with Prime Minister Donald Tusk, the Environmental Minister Marcin Korolec has announced his department is progressing with new regulations regarding the mineral mining law. PAP reported that the minister said the legislation would be focusing mainly on oil and gas issues for the moment, adding that the ministry would soon start working on shale gas extraction regulations. Domestic resources need to be protected by the state, he said, without violating the rights of foreign investors. The minister also revealed that the new bill will be similar to the one Norwegians has already esbis to be much similar as the one that has been set by Norvegians. Korolec also discussed with the prime minister his upcoming trip on March 9 to Brussels where the EU energy package will be discussed.
