Kromberg & Schubert, a German auto parts manufacturer, acquired the 27,000 sqm property in the town Chisineu Cris that it had been leasing from Solvency Project for the last 10 years. The price was not disclosed. JLL brokered the deal. Kromberg & Schubert plans to expand its manufacturing capacity at the site, which includes a factory and a plot of land. The company operates four centers in Romania, with locations in Sibiu, Timisoara, Medias and Chisineu Cris.
Cristina Pop, director of JLL’s industrial department, said Kromberg & Schubert was looking for proximity to pan-European corridors and a workforce filled experienced engineers and laborers. “This transaction proves the confidence of the German company into the long-term future of the Romanian industrial and labor market and we expect further entries in the following period. We are currently dealing with several inquiries from other companies that explore this possibility,” Pop said.
