Kulczyk discovers more gas in Tanzania

21 May 2012

Ophir Energy has found new gas deposits in Tanzania, news that will be welcomed by the company’s co-owner Jan Kulczyk. Poland’s wealthiest businessman Jan Kulczyk can thus tout his fifth bull’s eye since his arrival in east Africa. Preliminary estimates are that the newly-discovered asset could consist up to 100bn cubic meters of gas. “The range of the discovered deposits is huge, increasing our total deposits,” says Jarosław Pączek, the project manager at Kulczyk Investment. Considering the consistency of these discoveries, the region is now being perceived as having great potential.
