Kulczyk takes Bernau-Szczecin gas pipeline

5 October 2012

The name of the new owner of the gas pipeline project in Szczecin was disclosed today by the daily Puls Biznesu, a month after the sell off was closed. The former owner of the Bernau-Szczecin project, the Polish businessman Aleksander Gudzowaty, had refused to reveal the name of the company that’s taken over the project. But Puls claims it’s Jan Kulczyk that’s acquired the famous project.
“We’ve just had our first meeting with the new owner of Bernau-Szczecin project, meaning with the representatives of the group controlled by Jan Kulczyk,” said Jan Chadam, head of Gaz System, which would be the operator of the pipeline. The Barnau-Szczecin gas pipeline is intended to free Poland from its dependency on Russian gas supplies by creating a new link with Germany.
