Jacksonville based general contractor LandSouth Construction has begun construction on a $23 million mixed-use apartment community in Lakeland, Fla. The new development, Village on the Avenue, will bring 259 garden style apartment homes and 20,000 square feet of resort style amenities to 6720 South Florida Ave. The community will also boast a retail component to the project which is being developed by Village Partners of Davenport, Fla. with designs by James S. Carr, A.I.A. & Associates. The 12-acre, gated community is scheduled for completion in May 2017.
