Most large companies are interested in vaccinating employees against covid-19 by company physicians. This follows from a quick survey by the Confederation of Industry and Transport of the Czech Republic, which was presented to journalists today by its vice-president Jan Rafaj. The Industry Association estimates that occupational physicians and healthcare providers in large companies could vaccinate up to 1.2 million employees.
“The companies want to help the state with vaccination and thus contribute to ending the covid-19 epidemic. We have called over 30 large companies, such as Plzeňský prazdroj, Třinecké železárny, Unipetrol, T-Mobile, Škoda Auto, Phillip Morris, Continental Barum or Amazon. most of them are interested in having their company doctors or healthcare providers vaccinate employees, “said Rafaj.
Some companies want to motivate their employees to get vaccinated. For example, they intend to reimburse workers for the time they will have to spend vaccinating against covid-19. Since the vaccination, companies are promising not only a significant reduction in morbidity, but also a faster return to normal life, Rafaj warned. Already last week, the Confederation of Industry helped promote that in the second wave of vaccination from May, companies and their doctors may also help with vaccination. He now suggests that when registering for vaccination, people can tick that they want to be vaccinated with their employer.
“By vaccinating in companies, we are able to ensure that the population is vaccinated more quickly. This will also relieve the overloaded health care system,” he said. In addition, he said, it would be easier for many people to get vaccinated by a company doctor directly at the place of employment than to travel to a vaccination center ten kilometers away.
In order for companies to be able to vaccinate their employees, they need a clear and well-functioning registration system that will facilitate vaccination in companies. “The web form through which people will register for vaccination must be clear and 100% reliable. The situation from last week, when the system collapsed when registering for vaccination of seniors over the age of 80, cannot be repeated,” Rafaj said.
