Housing prices in Latvia shot up by 6.4 percent in Q4 2015, the sixth biggest y-o-y increase reported in the EU for the three-month period, according to data published by Eurostat. The Baltic country also reported a q-o-q increase of 2.3 percent. Housing prices in Estonia increased by 5.1 percent y-o-y and 0.8 percent q-o-q, while prices in Lithuania in Q4 were up 3.3 percent y-o-y, but reported a q-o-q drop of 2.1 percent. The biggest y-o-y increase for housing prices in the EU was reported in Sweden (14.2 percent), followed by Hungary (10.3 percent), the UK (7.1 percent) and Ireland (6.6 percent). Meanwhile, housing prices in Croatia fell by 2.1 percent y-o-y in Q4 2015. Prices also dropped in Italy (-0.9 percent) and Cyprus (0.6 percent).
