Joining the European Commisioner Jose Baroso, the European Union Commissioner for Justice Viviane Reding, German Chancelor Angela Merkel and representatives of the Netherlands and Austria, Poland’s opposition leader Jarosław Kaczyński has announced he will boycott EURO 2012, which was planned to be held in Poland and Ukraine. “Law and Justice has chosen against attending UEFA matches that are to take place in Ukraine,” the party announced in a statement. With the move, Law and Justice hopes to help increase the pressure on the Ukrainian government, and it’s urging Poland’s government to do the same.
