Up to 2.8 million sqm of industrial space were leased, while 1.3 million sqm came on-line between January and September in Poland, according to JLL. Nearly 2.1 million sqm are currently under construction. “So far, each quarter of 2018 has seen a better result than the corresponding periods of the previous year, and total leased floorspace from January until the end of September hit 2.8 million sqm. However, since the beginning of 2018, net demand (excluding renewals) stands at almost 2.13 million sqm,” said Tomasz Mika, head of the industria agency at JLL Poland. The industrial sector in Poland continues to be predominantly driven by logistic operators, which account for 41 percent of net market demand this year, followed by retailers with 33 percent, Mika added.
