Lee County multifamily permits skyrocket in January

Builders in Lee County requested 358 multifamily building permits in January 2015, a significant increase from the paltry 20 it handed out in January 2014. Commercial permits also rose In January of 20015 with values reaching $26 million compared to just $2.9 million last year. Helping drive the increase of commercial permits is a three-story $17 million senior living facility at Tamiami Trail and Pelican Colony Boulevard as well as a $7.5 million Walmart at 11320 Summerlin Drive. Meanwhile, the county issued permits for 79 single family homes, just two more than in the first month of 2014.
