15 February 2013

Romanian furniture producer and retailer Lemet’s turnover rose 20 percent in 2012 to €47.1m, compared with €40.8m in 2011, according to Wall Street. The improved numbers are due to the new stores being opened, as well as the launching of new products. Lemet’s Romania network now includes 100 stores, with a total retail area of 65,000 sqm.

In 2012 the company opened 12 stores, in Suceava, Călărași, Vâlcea, Ploiești and Bucharest, all of which had areas of over 800 sqm.
Originally nothing more than a furniture manufacturer, the store began selling its own goods, eventually establishing a nationwide chain.

Its factory was built in 1991 in the city of Campina and currently covers 30,000 sqm, and currently produces 360,000 furniture modules a year. The company currently has a total of 1,250 employees. Its main competitors are Mobexpert, Elvila, Ikea, Kika, Rovere Mobili.
