Lennar Homes is spending $1 billion to buy, develop land and build homes in two Central Florida developments. The money will be divided between Storey Lake in Osceola County and Storey Park near Lake Nona in southeast Orlando. Storey Lake will break ground this month and is planned to have 2,000 homes evenly split between vacation home buyers and end users. Storey Park will have 2,700 homes, construction of which should begin in the fourth quarter of 2015.
Lennarβs $1 billion investment will be in addition to the $1 billion the company has spent on its Champions Gate community and the $80 million it has planned for Summerlake located in West Orange county.
