Leo Express has backed away from its plans to launch train service between Prague and Bratislava as of June 14. The company is now targeting a December launch of the line, which would run through the city of Olomouc, instead of the more traditional route via Brno. Leo Express says the engines it had ordered from China were delayed by the coronavirus because the Chinese employees in the company’s testing complex in Velim “disappeared” during the pandemic. It had planned to run four round trips per day in June, but assuming all goes well, Leo Express should offer six trips between the Czech and Slovak capitals when it relaunches service in December.
