Leoni opened a new 20,000 sqm production facility in Nis, southern Serbia. The German fiber optic and cable manufacturer is planning to employ 1,125 people at the location. Leoni opened its first Serbian factory in 2009 in Prokuplje, followed in 2014 with a location in Malosiste. Last year, it opened its first factory in Nis. The company is building another factory in Kraljevo, with completion planned for 2019. This plant will offer 45,000 sqm with additional 20,000 sqm of accompanying content. The site will employ 4,000 people. The company, which has already invested around €75m in Serbia, has 93 factories in 31 countries.
