Leyard Europe buys industrial site in Prešov

Leyard Shenzhen Opto Electronics bought a site in the Záborské industrial zone in Prešov, eastern Slovakia. The city sold the Chinese company 10,000 sqm at €29/sqm, with an option to buy an additional 5,000 sqm. The manufacturer’s European branch, Leyard Europe, plans to build a plant that will produce electrotechnical components and supply LED screens to the EMEA region. The factory is scheduled for completion by the end of 2016 and will cost the investor €2.3m. The first phase will employ 100 people, while the second phase of the project, representing an investment of €5m, will boost the staff to 300. Draka Comteq Slovakia, Honeywell Turbo and AHP are tenants at the Prešov industrial zone.
