Lidl building new distribution center in Sereď

Lidl started construction on its third distribution center in Slovakia. The center is located in the Sereď-south industrial zone. The giant warehouse will offer 128,000 sqm of storage space and is scheduled to open in spring 2016. Lidl’s €50m center will add 200 new jobs to the Slovak labor market. Lidl is the first investor to enter the 240 ha Sereď-south industrial zone. The food retailer already operates two distribution centers in Slovakia in Nemšová and Záborske as well as 123 stores and national headquarters. It employs 3,600 in the country. Lidl has already invested €460m into its activities on the Slovak market and plans to invest an additional €200m over the next five years.
