Lidl is set to open its first store on the Serbian market in March in the city of Smederevo. The German discount retailer is in the process of buying more plots for additional stores and a logistics facility.
Lidl operates more than 10,000 stores across Europe. It is owned by Schwarz Gruppe, which also operates the Handelshof and Kaufland chains.
