Lisbon South Bay, in which the municipalities of Lisbon, Almada, Barreiro and Seixal are involved, aims to attract investment to new real estate and industrial projects. In April, these cities will promote a roadshow in four cities in Brazil to promote nearly 900 ha of land now available for investment. In Almada, construction of the Cidade da Água (Water City) is being planned. This scheme covers 63 ha and will cost an estimated €1.2bn. The project provides for the construction of housing and services, a marina, a transportation hub, hotels, offices and cultural and leisure facilities. The 290 ha Barreiro park planned by the company Quimigal will be devoted to logistics and services. In Seixal there are 536 ha being made available to heavy industry.
