Václav Havel Airport Prague enjoyed a record year in 2017, with the number of passengers jumping 17.9 percent to a record 15.4 million. The busiest month of the year was July, when it was used by 1.7 million passengers, while the daily average for the year hit 42,233 people. The top five locations were London (1.2 million passengers), Paris (847,000), Moscow (824,000), Amsterdam (658,000) and Frankfurt (521,000). The increased in total passengers was due in large part to the opening of 16 new destinations, along with two new connections to London (City and Southend). It was a big year for Central European airports in general. Warsaw’s total rose 20 percent to 15.5 million passengers, while Vienna surpassed the 30 million passenger mark for the first time ever.
