LOT chooses Mikosz as “new” CEO

7 February 2013

The national airline operator LOT has chosen its new CEO to guide it through its latest troubles, but the winning candidate is no newcomer to the job. For the second time, Sebastian Mikosz has been selected to head the company, having been dismissed in 2010, after it was claimed his restructuring plan for the stalling airline was taking too long to implement. Two years later, his task is the same: to restructure the underperforming company, that some believe is flying headlong into a bankruptcy crash landing.
The daily Gazeta Wyborcza writes that Mikosz’s name was included on the list of candidates only after Poland’s Treasury intervened in the process yesterday.
