Workers of LOT AMS, aircraft mechanics for the Polish airline LOT, have announced they’re going on strike beginning Sunday evening, and have made no firm plans on when to resume work. Company officials claim travellers should not be affected by the industrial action, says LOT spokesman Leszek Chorzewski. “We have prepared ourselves for such a situation, and as such we serviced some of the aircraft already.” Other mechanics could be brought in as needed, Chorzewski says.
