LOT shortlists 5 in CEO hunt

28 January 2013

In an effort to stay afloat, the Polish airline operator LOT is looking for new ways to improve its performance. The company hopes to identify a new CEO to help the company rebuild its value. According to the daily Puls Biznesu, the shortlist of candidates includes five names that are to be kept confidential at this stage. On February 4, the candidates are to present their strategies to lead LOT forward and the winner will be picked on this basis.
LOT’s former CEO Marcin Piróg, was dismissed at the end of last year, after Poland’s government accused of mismanaging the national airline after he asked the Polish Treasury for a PLN 1bn loan. The government agreed to loan LOT PLN 400m, but demanded Piróg’s dismissal.
