Low cost carriers boost Prague airport numbers

3 November 2014

After a weak summer, the number of passengers passing through Václav Havel Airport Prague in September rose thanks to increased activity from low-cost and charter carriers. In particular, the return of Egypt as a popular holiday destination helped the airport’s cause, as the operator Travel Service saw its numbers rise 11 percent. Regular flights have dropped off, however. At the end of the second quarter, the airport had seen 2 percent growth compared to the first half of 2013, but the 8.65 million passengers over the first three quarters of the year represent just 1 percent growth.
