LPP has launched a new warehouse in Moscow’s “PNK Park Zhukovsky” designed to handle online orders in Russia, which will triple the efficiency of online sales in that country, the company said. After a few weeks of operation of the new facility, LPP became convinced of the legitimacy of its further expansion by another 10,000 sqm. The expansion of warehouse space will allow the Gdańsk-based company to effectively implement its multi-channel development strategy in this region.
In March this year. LPP has signed a contract for the lease of new warehouse space in the Moscow industrial park “PNK Park Zhukovsky”. The facility, as announced by the Polish clothing manufacturer, was to be launched in the third quarter of 2021, but in June this year, launched the first online orders of customers of the Russian market, it was reported.
“Due to the limitations caused by the pandemic, the entire process of opening the facility was associated with many challenges and required a completely new approach, the involvement of many people and the use of a largely remote contact formula, remote monitoring of work progress or conducting online training, which was an additional Thanks to the hard work of the teams, we have successfully completed the entire project and today we can boast of the fastest launch of the fulfillment center in our history,” said Sebastian Sołtys, LPP Logistics Director.
A new fullfilment center with an area of 30,000 sqm replaced the existing half-smaller online sales facility in this market. Currently, the new warehouse can accommodate up to 3 million items of clothing in the spring-summer season or over 2 million items of the fall-winter collection.
“In just two months from the start of work, we broke the historic record in terms of the quantity of goods received and shipped, compared to the current scale of orders processed in Russia. Today more work stations allow us to accept up to 100,000 items of clothing per day and carry out 95 thousand shipments to customers daily. This means a threefold increase in our online sales opportunities in this country. The pace of building inventory levels was three times faster than when launching our previous fulfillment centers,” indicated Kamil Piece Logistics Network Development Manager.
LPP is developing its global supply and distribution network, within which the entire warehouse space after the launch of the fulfillment center in Russia currently amounts to over 270,000 sqm. This year, the company plans to launch another 22 thousand. m2 of warehouse space in Romania and the completion of the construction process of the distribution center in Brześć Kujawski, which was announced for operational readiness in the first quarter of 2022. Then, the total warehouse space of LPP will reach over 370,000 sqm, completed.
LPP manages the fashion brands Reserved, Cropp, House, Mohito and Sinsay. The company has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since 2001.
