Entrepreneur Lucian Butnaru, founder of payment technology provider SelfPay, is entering the premium housing rental segment of the real estate market with two projects located in the north of Bucharest and Voluntari.
The businessman owns a 1,200 sqm plot of land in the Bucurestii Noi neighbourhood where he planned to build a four-storey basement office building in 2019.
“The pandemic made me reconsider this plan and diversify my investments into residential. We consolidated all investments under the Chelsea Offices and Chelsea Residences brand,” said Lucian Butnaru.
The new plan calls for the construction of a building of about 4,200 sqm in which 52 apartments will be built exclusively for rent.
“We will go for the PUD version – apartments with gym, coworking, café/restaurant on the ground floor. It’s a Chelsea Residences project strictly for rental. The 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units will have access to all amenities,” the investor explained.
“In parallel we are nearing completion of an ultra high end villa development called Chelsea Residence in the vicinity of Oxford Gardens and the American School. It will be a gated community with sports facilities – pickleball, basketball, intended for rent as well,” adds Butnaru. The project in Voluntari is composed of 8 villas with areas ranging from 450 to 550 sqm each.
