Magna Interiors Trnava has expanded its manufacturing facility in Slovakia from 8,700 sqm to 15,500 sqm, an investment advised on by the Bratislava office of Cushman & Wakefield. The facility produces automobile interior elements such as door panels, instrument panels and armrests for a variety of automakers. The production site is owned by Foxconn Slovakia and was used in the production of Sony televisions until the company moved to Nitra.
“As the automotive industry is a highly competitive market, suppliers when selecting premises, focus on criteria which include; high quality facilities, occupational costs, energy performance of buildings and the locality which must foster the timely and safe delivery of products to their clients. We are extremely excited to have had the opportunity to work with the Magna Interiors Trnava on their site expansion,” said Michal Belica, an industrial negotiator at Cushman & Wakefield, who was involved into the transaction.
C&W reports that limited construction of new industrial real estate is keeping supply tight for new investors. While this means that rent levels and prime yields should hold firm through 2014, it could also put a cap on the total new investment activity by end users.
