The Hungarian parliament carried a motion charging the company MAL Zrt with responsibility for the “red sludge” environmental disaster of 2010. The government will seek to punish the irresponsible executives, along with the authorities who allowed the establishment of MAL Zrt and its illegal activities to carry on. The chief prosecutor has filed criminal charges on 15 people and is seeking their imprisonment.
