The Hungarian unit of the Italian building materials maker Mapei is expanding its plant in Sóskút, 30 km from Budapest. The cost of the expansion is expected to hit HUF 2.4bn. The company wants to double its production capacity to 110,000 tons, while the storage space will be doubled to 15,000 sqm. The company also intends to add new jobs at its Sóskút plant. Completion is scheduled for this November. Mapei’s Hungarian unit reported a turnover of HUF 10.2bn last year.
