Marriott will take over operation of Grand Hotel Evropa on Wenceslas square in Prague. The art nouveau hotel will be rebranded as W Prague and will added to Marriott’s luxury W Hotels chain. The five-star hotel should reopen in 2020 following a thorough facelift. It will offer 154 rooms and apartments in the main hotel building on the square as well as a new-build component in the courtyard. The property is owned by PPH Evropa, a member of Julius Meinl group.
W Hotels target young clientele that appreciate modern design. Worldwide, the chain operates 50 hotels and the figure is expected to rise to 75 by 2020. In Europe, there are seven W Hotels. In 2020, two new additions should open in Prague and Budapest.
