János Martonyi, Foreign Minister of Hungary, held a lecture at the Central-European University where he stated that Hungary’s three foreign political objectives are to have a more integrated EU, to strengthen the Central-European cooperation and to initiate the cooperation with Asian and African countries. Martonyi commented on a speech last week by Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orbán’s speech, saying that his warning about Hungary not becoming an EU it was not intended to seem anti-EU, but was a general statement about the country refusing to behave as a colony.
