Massive investment projects planned for Prague Airport

3 October 2017

Prague’s Václav Havel Airport is planning to invest into new dispatching systems for Terminal 1 and 2 as well as eight explosive detection systems. It is also preparing the construction of a parallel runway worth several billion crowns, which it hopes to complete in seven years. Idnes.cz suggests that the airport is hoping the investments will increase its competitive power, as Penta is pushing forward with plans to expand the runway at the former army airport in Vodochody outside Prague 8 and open it to passenger planes and low-cost airlines. The head of the Vodochody airport, Martin Kačur, says the airport could dispatch 3.5 million passengers annually in seven years.
