Canadian residential builder Mattamy Homes has named Jim Birkholz president of the company’s Tampa-Sarasota division. Birkholz will oversee all aspects of Mattamy’s business, including land acquisition and development, marketing, sales and construction in the Tampa and Sarasota markets. This is Birkholz’s second tenure with Mattamy, having served previously as the company’s Minnesota Division president from 2008-2009. He was most recently President of the Northeast Florida division for CalAtlantic Group and has held executive posts for Standard Pacific Homes, Pinnacle Consulting Group, Centex’s Myrtle Beach and Virginia Beach Divisions. He also served as vice president of operations of Pulte’s Atlanta Division. Mattamy Homes has sold more than 70,000 homes in 160 communities across Canada and the United States.
“Jim brings a wealth of business and people leadership experience to Mattamy, and we are very much looking forward to him leading the Tampa-Sarasota Division forward,” said Jim Leiferman, President of Mattamy’s US Group, in a statement. “We’re pleased and fortunate that he made the decision to return to Mattamy, as it’s an exciting time for our business in western Florida, and he is the ideal person to take the reins for us.”
