Max Boegl’s €200m wind farm to come on line in 2013

The German company Max Boegl, which has completed prominent projects in Romania such as the National Arena stadium and Cernavoda-Medgidia-Constanta highway, will invest €180-200m in building a wind farm in the Dobrogea region, with an installed capacity of 99 MW.

The Germans will begin construction of the wind farm this year and will complete it in 2014. Max Boegl will install hybrid towers, made ​​of prefabricated materials at their base and metal at the top. At up to 110 meters in height, they’ll be the highest installed wind turbines in Romania. In 2012, Max Boegl’s Romanian branch recorded a turnover of approximately €110m, slightly down from the previous year.
