Melo Group gets FAA approval for Aria on the Bay

7 March 2015

Melo Group has received approval to begin construction of Aria on the Bay, a project by the Federal Aviation Administration. In December, the FAA issued a warning to the developer that its plans for a 535 food tower would pose a hazard to air traffic from M.I.A. 5.7 miles to the west. The FAA recommended a height of 460 feet. On the basis of an aeronautical study, the FAA determined that the Aria on the Bay won’t create any air traffic problems. With that approval in place, Melo Group has begun converting reservations to into contracts for the $200 million in pre-sales achieved to date. Aria on the Bay will have 647 units, 1,035 parking spaces and 40,000 square feet of commercial space. Completion of construction is slated for 2017.
