The Astor Cos. Broke ground on a new condominium project, Merrick Manor, in Coral Gables on Thursday. Located at 301 Altara Ave., the 10-story building will feature 227 units along with 20,000 square feet of retail. The units will range in size from 550 to just over 3,000 square feet with amenities including a pool, summer kitchen, fitness center, valet parking, and a lounge. Behar & Font was selected as the architect on the project while the interiors were designed by Steven G. The project is slated for completion in the first quarter of 2018. Astor Cos. President Henry Torres predicts that with nearby shopping restaurants and culture, the project will prove attractive to buyers.
