The Czech contractor Metrostav won a tender to build a 20 km section of the Gdaňsk-Elblag S7 motorway in Poland. The project will cost CZK 9bn. Metrostav competed with 10 bidders in what is reportedly the largest tender currently underway in Poland. The highway is scheduled for completion in October 2018. The order also includes the construction of a CZK 1.7bn bridge over Visla River. The Czech construction giant has already signed a contract with the Polish road and motorway authority GDDKiA. Metrostav recently established a new branch in Poland: Metrostav Polska Spolka Akcyjna.
